Intermountain Yearly Meeting (IMYM) is seeking a part-time administrative assistant to provide support to the Presiding Clerk, the Clerk of Representatives Committee and the Clerk of the Arrangements Committee. The position reports to the Presiding Clerk of Intermountain Yearly Meeting.

Required:

  1. Participation in the Society of Friends (Quaker) meetings and knowledge of the manner and the good order of Friends.
  2. Experience with or the ability to quickly learn the online platforms that IMYM uses including Google Workspace, Zoom, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, WordPress.
  3. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Computer and internet access.

Responsibilities may include:

  1. Maintenance of Mail Chimp lists.
  2. Updating the website (www.imym.org).
  3. Event planning
    1. Setting up online meetings on behalf of the Clerks.
    2. Planning for the annual in-person meetings of the Arrangements Committee and Representatives Committee.
      1. Assist in identifying locations.
      2. Prepare registration forms.
      3. Receive reports and work with submitters to address any problems.
      4. Attend and support the Clerks as needed.
    3. Assist in planning the Annual Gathering.
  4. Ad hoc assistance with other projects as needed.

Desired:

Familiarity with the Intermountain Yearly Meeting community.

Hours:

15 hours per week on average, flexible schedule. 

Attendance at meetings of the Representatives Committee, the Arrangements Committee, and the Annual Gathering will be required.

 Compensation:

Rate in the range of $25/hour. 

This position will be that of an independent contractor.The contractor will receive a 1099 form from IMYM at the end of the calendar year. The nature and scope of this role will be defined in a mutually agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Travel expenses for on-site meetings will be reimbursed. Most of the work can be done online.
